Allenbuild Ltd are using our SureStand® 800 system to provide a safe working platform on The Engine Yard in Edinburgh. This location was previously home to Edinburgh’s historic tram depot, built in 1898.

Allenbuild Ltd are working with our equipment to transform the old depot into a new housing complex boasting 376 new homes including 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments, duplexes and 12 penthouses. While the interiors will be fairly modern, the exterior will draw upon Edinburgh’s traditional architecture and you will also be able to find remnants of the old cable tramway just up the road from the complex which is being preserved for the future.

Acheson Construction Ltd have recently started the development of Sherborne Care Home and have chosen our SureStand system as their preferred method of access for the internal blockwork which will be completed by LC Wills Contracts Ltd.

At present the ground floor is completed and brick and blockwork continues on the first floor.

This project is on behalf of Barchester Healthcare who specialise and pride themselves in the care they provide to older people. This project will be a 3 storey 64 bed residential home including leisure facilities.

Our SMAS Certification enables us to quickly and easily demonstrate our H&S competence to clients and is recognised by the majority of construction contractors throughout the UK.

The audit covers all our Health & Safety Documents and Processes including Policies, Procedures, Training and H&S Practises and helps ensure that we are compliant with all UK Health & Safety Regulations.

C.J O’Shea are using our SafeStand® 1200 system on “The Stage” in Shoredtich, this £750m development will transform the site into a mixed-use destination. The 37 storey building will include restaurants, shops and 275,000 sq. ft of office space. It will also include 412 apartments along with another 400,000 sq. ft of mixed use space.

The Stage is on the site of Shakespeare’s former Curtain Theatre. Part of the development will still showcase the remains of the Shakespeare Theatre, where the first performances of Romeo & Juliet and Henry V took place.

What is FORS?

The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme encompassing all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. FORS helps fleet operators to measure and monitor performance and alter their operations in order to demonstrate best practice.

We have been looking to the future and what it means to be a supplier of goods to inner cities. Not only are we aiming to drive down our emissions and costs using routing software and optimum load weigh checks, we are also ensuring we aim to comply with the Direct Vision Standard being introduced and this is why we have looked to the Mercedes Econic to make sure we meet these future demands.

The new Direct Vision Standard (DVS) which will be introduced in London in October 2020 are for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 12 tonnes. These standards assess and rate how much a HGV driver can see directly from their cab in relation to other road users, especially vulnerable road users. The DVS forms part of the Mayor of London’s Vision Zero approach to eliminating all deaths and serious injuries from London’s roads by 2041. In 2016, 23% of pedestrian and 50% of cyclist deaths involved a HGV, despite HGVs making up only 4% of road miles in London.  HGV blind spots are a major contributory factor in fatal collisions involving vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians.
