Precision Brickwork Services have chosen to use Safestand® Access Systems as their preferred heavy duty low level working platform for building the blockwork walls on the £205m state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) at the existing landfill and recycling site in Beddington, Sutton. Lagan Construction Group were awarded the contract on Viridor’s new Facility.

The site team also chose to use the revolutionary new masonry support systems, Wi Beams and Wi Columns, on this project.

The facility will provide the South London Waste Partnership and businesses with a safe and cost-effective alternative to landfill. It will also bring forward the completion and restoration of the existing landfill into green spaces and wildlife habitats.

The ERF has been designed to process around 275,000 tonnes of non-hazardous residual waste a year. Wider environmental benefits will include the landfill diversion of up to 95 per cent of waste delivered to the facility and the generation of up to 26MW of electricity, which will power the facility itself and supply over 22MW to the National Grid. It could also provide heat for local users.

Contractor Vinci has been appointed to build the University of Bath’s £20m teaching and research building.

The firm will build the facility at the western end of the university’s Claverton Down Campus.

Once again, Vinci Construction have chosen to use SafeStand® Access Systems as their preferred heavy duty low level working platform for the construction of internal blockwork walls.

Vinci has already worked at the university where it built the Chancellor’s Building in 2013.

The new architecturally designed Tottenham Hotspur Training Centre has been built on 77 acres and is located on Hotspur Way, Enfield. It is the home of the Club’s First Team and Academy and is recognised as one of the best in Europe.

The state-of-the-art facility – which includes a covered artificial pitch, world-class player preparation areas, pool and hydrotherapy complex, altitude room, large-scale gymnasium and specialist sports rehabilitation suites – will support the Club’s ambitions to attract, develop and retain the highest quality talent. Safestand has, once again, been chosen as the preferred low level access system to be used for the works by Base Contracts Ltd. Previously Safestand have supplied McLaren and Grangewood Brickwork Services Ltd on the Tottenham Hotspur Training Facilities.

There are 15 grass pitches across the site including four dedicated solely for First Team Training and one and a half artificial outdoor pitches with floodlighting. The First Team Match pitch is built to exactly the same specification as the pitch at White Hart Lane.
