The luxurious Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, which has been running since 1931, is currently undergoing its biggest renovation since 1989. Prior to the Hotel opening the building was previously known as Dorchester House and has been the American Embassy & was utilised as a hospital during World War I, before being demolished in 1929.

The current areas undergoing refurbishment are the Main Entrance, two of the guest floors and The Bar at The Dorchester. These renovations are planned to take place from February 2022 until September 2022.

Winchmore Brickwork Ltd have hired our mid range SureStand 800 system on site which allows for Brickwork up to 3 metres high.

As far back as 2014 SafeStand® Ltd were looking at ways to improve our fleet operations throughout the UK. We decided to join the Fleet Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) to help us deliver greater driver education, increase understanding throughout the business; implement fleet management tools and skills of how to surpass the current basic legal operational standards. SafeStand® Ltd met these requirements giving us the FORS Bronze accreditation.

In 2016 we chose to look at progressing to the higher FORS Silver standard, which we did. This helped us deliver further operational improvements including fleet visual aides to assist the driver and to help monitor our carbon footprint. This helped us to create a culture within the business placing a much greater emphasis on logistics from driver safety to vulnerable road users and the potential environmental factors when planning routes.

SafeStand has now met the FORS Silver Standard for a 5th consecutive year as we continue to look forward at new challenges and ways to improve.

As we all look more closely at our operations and how we can streamline while pursuing a reduction in our carbon footprint, SafeStand ® have done it again. Having upgraded all our vehicles to Euro 6 engines over the last few years we have turned our attention onto the warehouse operations.

We are proud to announce that we have purchased an electric JCB TLT 35-22E forklift and have retired our old faithful diesel forklift.  The JCB TLT 35-22E will reduce noise levels when operating within the confines of our warehouse as well as drive down our carbon emissions. We have been using this forklift for the past two weeks and have seen noise levels drop significantly, whist also generating zero exhaust emissions.
