SDC Builders Ltd have successfully utilised Safestand® Access Systems to carry out The Centre Parcs dome refurbishment at Longleat consisting of a phased replacement of the glazed roof along with  repairs to the glulam arch structure. To complete the roof works SDC developed their own innovative access solution whereby a working platform was installed between the glulam structure giving clear access for the removal and replacement of the existing roof. This working platform, installed using rope access and abseiling techniques, provides a waterproof barrier, safety deck and prevents debris from falling into the sub-tropical swimming pool complex and restaurant areas below.

The main focus of the event was on Work at Height and SafeStand® Access Systems were well received and got positive feedback from the attendees including HSE Inspectors.

Neil Boon, Senior IMS Manager for Carillion Construction Services said, “I would like to thank you for your support of our event today, without your support we can’t put on events like this. The presentations followed by the practical demonstrations really went down very well and we had a good variety to key people interested. Various people whom I spoke to thought the time they spent was of real value and benefit, which gives a nice feeling of doing something right.”
